[劍橋(CAMBRIDGE)] ［菲律賓語學研修］如題

本來我只打算唸兩個月ESL，後來多延長一個月學劍橋英文，真的是非常紮實的一段學習時光：長達十多小時的全英文環境，只要肯下定決心學習的話，你能e學到的比你想像的要多得多。我們都知道台灣沒有足夠的環境讓我們應用英文，所以常常只偏重閱讀和一些聽力，但是在這裡，聽說讀寫都是日常的一部分，有效的學習不應該只偏重在某一領域。尤其每個人的階段不一樣，個人化的學習目標是一大特色。

我覺得學習語言最重要的是拿來溝通而不是拿來應付考試或者考證書擺來放，所以在這裡學習最棒的事是：交外國朋友也是學習的一部分！這裏有日本人、韓國人、越南人、俄羅斯人、中國人...等等，你想要和他們溝通理所當然要彼此使用英文，即使假日一起出去旅遊，也可以學到很多！避免因為害怕講英文而只跟中文語系的同學交朋友，這裏很多人也都英文破破的，敢講你就贏了。

但是不只如此，這裏不乏優秀的老師，尤其是口說和聽力部分絕對能學到大量東西，包含發音和大量單字，在這裡最最最重要的就是多和你的老師聊天和分享想法，這也是大量一對一教學的好處。部分真正優秀的教師可以帶給你各方面的提升，尤其是包含寫作、文法、閱讀，甚至說話技巧！因為並不是所有的老師都精通文法，教學方式也相當多元，所以如果偏重這部分的話就要多打聽一下，我個人就換了五次老師，找到符合自己個性和目標的老師非常重要！

教材的部分，老實說ESL的教材只是菲律賓［小學］的水準，但程度比我們高中念的還難上許多。如果我只完成這方面的課程，老實說成果還挺讓人沮喪的，這也是我多花一個月在劍橋的原因，它是屬於基礎課程的延伸；我想誰都希望學習有個成果，尤其能考個證書什麼的，這也是為什麼很多人選擇多益、雅思課程的理由。但我個人覺得從基礎打起比起熟悉答題技巧更能幫助程度的提升，所以ESL的選擇絕對是最適合我的。

食物方面因為個人比較不挑，所以每天都過著幸福的生活。但其實伙食真的不怎麼樣，如果對這方面比較要求的就要適應一下，主要的問題是出在食材的來源比較不精緻，也比較不穩定，不能說是廚師技術的問題。假日就出去逛逛百貨公司、吃吃餐館調劑一下。

玩的部分最重要了，這裏很多觀光景點，尤其是海邊活動：潛水、飛行傘、賞鯨、跳島...多花一些預算和朋友出去玩，真的不是只有學習才是學習，生活也是一種學習，這方面就不多說了，只有美好的回憶屬於自己，自行體會。對了，網路真的很不穩，把你的電腦擺一邊吧！

First and foremost, why we learn a language is to have a comfortable conversation, so that is why the environment of learning is very important. That is also the reason why people like me choose to study aboard. We all know that we don't have a decent one to learn healthily in Taiwan. I mean, we commonly study in only reading and a little in listening, but we can't use it well as nature when we really need it. In my case, this is because I didn't talk in it, read it in casual life and write to other friends in it even I could get high scores in school. But here I could practice everything about English which includes one more as listening. One of these four skills could enhance each other and then my English was improved fastly.

How to achieve these good learning conditions here? Not only there is an entirely English speaking course but also the friends I met. I made friends with Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and even Russian. We could only talk to each other by English, and I was eager to know them more. By the reason, I did correct my pronunciation a lot and enhance my listening ability. But the most important is that I had great teachers. They helped me much more than my imagination. Such as speaking, listening, writing, grammar, idioms, slangs, and etc, I learned everything in English style without any my mother tongue. I used it everyday even on holiday!

To have a outing is also a kind of learning because my friends were all foreigners! So we toured many places like Mactan, Colon, and other historical landmarks,and  I really wanted to do more if I have a higher budget. But it is also in studying because I talked in English all the time.

I really enjoyed my life in SME. If I have another chance in the future, I may come back again. There. Is no limited in learning. And if you are interested in studying tour, I hope my experiences had some helps to you.
